Uijeongbu Music Theatre Festival (UMTF) held every May in Uijeongbu since 2002, the city of culture and art, will be held this year of 2017 from 12 to 21 May. By going further than introducing various domestic and international music theatres, it is going to make Uijeongbu into a boisterous festival sight with various experiences, exhibitions and outdoor performances that everyone can enjoy.

To celebrate the UK/Korea 2017–18, UMTF invites a British dance and circus company Acrojou to perform The Wheel House. Have your own journey with moves!

The Wheel House

A ‘tender, post-apocalyptic story’, The Wheel House is a unique, rolling acrobatic theatre show which unfolds inside and around a stunning circular home as it travels with the audience walking alongside.

Led by Artistic Director Jeni Barbard, Acrojou is collaboration between Jeni Barbard (designer/director), Creative Director Barney White (devisor/performer), and Technical Director Richard Mowbray (designer/engineer). Acrojou was founded in 2006 at the National Centre for Circus Arts, London. Drawing on backgrounds in circus, visual art, theatre, dance and engineering, Acrojou combine disciplines to create narrative at the rich meeting point of bodies, structures and materials.

Acrojou primarily tour to large scale, public, outdoor events, meaning huge numbers of people see their shows for free in their local public spaces.
