Welcome to the British Council in Korea.
For over half a century, since our opening in 1973, we have supported peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and Korea. Through our work in Arts and Culture, Education and the English language, whether working on a cultural programme, exploring opportunities for Studying in the UK, learning English or taking UK examinations, we help people gain the skills, confidence and connections to transform their lives and shape a better world in partnership with the UK.
We work with Korean partners in many areas of Culture and Education, promoting and strengthening connections between academics, artists and teachers, both face-to-face and online. Many people know us through our four English language centres in Seoul and Ilsan, where you and your children can learn English and engage in cultural activities. Over 23,000 people come to us in Korea every year to assess their language skills through IELTS and other exams in order to pursue dreams of studying and working abroad. If you are interested in studying in the UK, Study UK is our comprehensive guide to a UK education, including courses, scholarships, living in the UK and joining our Alumni UK global network when you return. We look forward to connecting with you.
