STEP

STEP 1

STEP 1 will not go ahead in June 2020. For candidates who are required to take STEP 1 as part of your university offer, you are NOT expected to take either STEP 2 or STEP 3. If you are in any doubt, please contact your university directly for guidance.

STEP 2, 3

STEP 2 and STEP 3 will be run by remote proctoring via Mercer Mettl, a leading Online Assessment Platform. A candidate is monitored online during the test duration typically with the help of a webcam, microphone and access to the candidate's screen.

Once you have registered for the test, you will receive full instructions from Mercer Mettl about how the test will work and the chance to trial the remote proctoring system before the live test day. 

Only candidates who are contacted directly by the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and the University of Warwick will be eligible to register. We will not accept registrations from any other candidates. 

If you are uncertain about whether you need to take STEP 2, STEP 3 or both as part of your offer, please contact the university you have applied to directly. 

 

Local deadline may be set in advance for accepting entries due to the time difference between UK, so please make sure you contact us as early as possible.

Test fees

Exams service fee consists of test fee, international courier fee, room hire cost and board fee. 

For BMAT, TMUA and STEP exams, candidate should also pay the exam board fee and if applicable.

Refund and cancellation

  • In case that exams requiring exam board fee are cancelled, the exam board fee will not be refunded after the entry closing date.
  • A cancellation fee of KRW 45,000 per exam is charged, if an exam is cancelled between 7 to 14 business days prior to your exam date.
  • No refund will be given if you apply for cancellation within 7 business days from your exam date.
  • Candidates who are unable to show an appropriate ID on the exam day, or who are absent for personal reasons including a minor illness, will not receive a refund.

Application

1. Apply for an exam: Email us at exams@britishcouncil.or.kr for applying an exam.

2. Submit exam application form: Submit the exam application form provided from exams services team via email.

3. Make a payment: You may make the payment via bank transfer once you have received the notification indicating your exam fee and the terms of payment from us.

4. Receive the exam confirmation letter: Once your exam has been confirmed, we will notify you the exam details including the exam schedule and venue information via email.

On the test day

  • Candidates should report to the venue 15 minutes before the scheduled time of the exam. 
  • Candidates must bring the same National ID or passport used at registration.
  • Candidates can take writing instruments into the exam room. No mobile phones, books, dictionaries or papers are allowed.

※ Candidates who require special arrangements are advised to register at least one week before the registration deadline.
